We are a young, dynamic and professional engineering company with a wealth of experience, who renders high quality and cost-effective solutions and service to our clients.
Jacques jointly started a steam trap company in 2008 and was instrumental in developing a range of
unique steam traps. Having designed, built, run and maintained boiler and steam plants for 25 years,
Jacques has extensive “hands-on” experience with steam systems and steam trapping. During his 8
years at this company, his focus was steam system design, energy optimisation, reticulation system
improvements as well as troubleshooting.
Jacques broke away from this company in 2016, together with his colleague Byron Cupido, and decided
to broaden their customer base by using their more than 40 years of joint hands-on experience in
industry and factory utilities. Jaclin Engineering today offers design, maintenance, troubleshooting
and energy optimisation of all mechanical utilities.
Byron Cupido spent the first 15 years of his career in Technical
Sales. He started out in the gasket and sealing industry where his main focus was on meeting the
customers’ needs in terms of the right product for the job.
He then joined Jacques Verwey’s steam trap company in 2010, and headed up the Sales
Division for the Western Cape. His sales responsibilities for steam traps, valves and equipment required “hands-on”
involvement with steam system audits and trap installations. He spent 5 of his 6 years in a role of
both selling steam traps and valves, as well as site supervision of the installation thereof.
His experience covered all aspect of steam systems, including boilers, steam line design, valves and
traps, trap testing and troubleshooting.
When Jacques broke away from his previous company in 2016, Byron followed and they formed a formidable
team who today offers more than four decades of joint “hands-on” experience in industry and mechanical
factory utilities.
